Regular Season Round 8: Brose Bask. - MBC 91-61
Date: November 10, 2015
Bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-61 loss to second ranked Brose Baskets (6-2) in Bamberg on Tuesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Mitteldeutscher BC managed to win fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brose Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 20. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 38-27 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brose Baskets made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Elias Harris (203-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Darius Miller (203-90, college: Kentucky) who added 15 points during the contest. American forward Tashawn Thomas (203-93, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Dominique Johnson (194-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brose Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Brose Baskets went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with EWE Baskets and Fraport SKY. Loser Mitteldeutscher BC still closes the standings with eight games lost. Brose Baskets will meet at home Phoenix Hagen (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will have a break next round.
