Regular Season Round 7: Istanbul DSI - Gediz 71-82

Bottom-ranked Istanbul DSI is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Gediz (6-1) 82-71 on Friday evening. The game without a history. Gediz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Demontez Stitt (187-89, college: Clemson, agency: HMS) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) accounted for 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and forward Murat Erensoy (202-91) added 6 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Istanbul DSI in the defeat. Gediz maintains third place with 6-1 record behind leader Acibadem Uni. Istanbul DSI lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Gediz will meet at home Pertevniyal (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul DSI will play against Sakarya BSB (#6) in Sakaraya and hopes to get finally their first victory.
