Regular Season Round 7: Virum - Amager 56-48

Date: November 13, 2015
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Virum (4-2) beat at home 6th ranked Amager (2-4) 56-48. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Virum outrebounded Amager 37-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Melissa Gilkey (185-92, college: Wash.-St.Louis) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import center Val Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 9 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Maria Brask (176-89) scored 11 points. Amager's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Virum keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Amager at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Virum will play against SISU (#5) in Copenhagen in the next round. Amager will play at home against the league's leader Lemvig and hopes to get back on the winning track.
