Regular Season Round 7: Akhisar Bld - Acibadem 80-83

The most exciting game of round 7 in the TBL took place in Akhisar. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Akhisar Bld (5-2) to leader Acibadem Uni. (7-0) 83-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. Akhisar Bld trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-83 at the end of the game. Acibadem Uni. made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Akhisar Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Point guard Dogus Ozdemiroglu (191-96) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Erdem Ilter (188-90) answered with 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) added 17 points in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Acibadem Uni. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Acibadem Uni. maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Tofas. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Sakarya BSB and Eskisehir Basket. Acibadem Uni. is looking forward to face Bandirma Kir. (#16) in Balikesir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play on the road against Eskisehir Basket (#5) in Edirne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
