Regular Season Round 12: Suduva-Mantinga - Nafta-Uni. 112-82

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Nafta-Uni. (5-7) in Marijampole 112-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nafta-Uni.. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva-Mantinga. Nafta-Uni. was better in second period 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Suduva-Mantinga made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Suduva-Mantinga players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by Paulius Vaitiekunas (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and the former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) supported him with 22 points and 5 assists. Five Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 4 steals by point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (189-97, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Nafta-Uni.. Forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) added 16 points. Nafta-Uni.'s coach Rytis Vaisvila gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Suduva-Mantinga maintains first position with 10-2 record. Nafta-Uni. at the other side keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Delikatesas. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Perlas-MRU (#8) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nafta-Uni. will play on the road against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
