Regular Season Round 6: Dragon Force - Vasco 86-52

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Vasco (2-4) was outplayed on the road by sixth ranked Dragon Force (2-2) 86-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragon Force. Vasco was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vasco to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Vasco 52-29 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Pedro Oliveira (179-97) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Diogo Araujo (199-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Felissanio Torres (192-91) who recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Emanuel Vaz (-92) added 8 points and 4 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragon Force moved-up to fourth place. Vasco at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Dragon Force will face Ginasio (#5) in Figueira da Foz in the next round. Vasco will play at home against Sampaense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
