The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Gussing Knights (11-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Vienna (6-6) 84-82. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Gussing Knights. Gussing Knights trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-84 at the end of the game. Vienna made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Bosnian center Ermin Jazvin (209-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists for the winners. American swingman Bradford Burgess (198-90, college: VCU, agency: Interperformances) replied with 26 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: HMS) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Gussing Knights. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vienna maintains fourth position with 6-6 record, which they share with Arkadia. Defending champion Gussing Knights still keep top place with one game lost. Vienna is looking forward to face league's second-placed Furstenfeld Panthers on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Gussing Knights will play against Gmunden Swans and are hoping to win this game.
