Very important is a home loss of third ranked Spartak Pleven (4-2) against fourth ranked Beroe (4-2) on Saturday night. Host Spartak Pleven was crushed by Beroe in Pleven 93-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spartak Pleven. The game was mostly controlled by Beroe. Spartak Pleven was better in third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beroe shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. American point guard Ashton Moore (183-93, college: Citadel) notched 24 points to lead the effort and the other American import guard Evrik Gary (191, college: Francis Marion) supported him with 23 points. Gary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Beroe's coach Lubomir Minchev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Montenegrin-Serbian center Milovan Savic (205-87) did not help to save the game for Spartak Pleven. The former international point guard Aleksandar Gruev (187-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Spartak Pleven. Beroe will play against Levski 2014 (#7) in Sofia in the next round where they are favorite.
