Regular Season Round 5: Cankaya - Bakospor 74-47

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Cankaya (3-2) outplayed bottom-ranked Bakospor (0-5) in Ankara 74-47 on Saturday. Cankaya dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bakospor's 26. They outrebounded Bakospor 62-39 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cankaya looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Bakospor's players. Yaren Tuana Dinc orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Ozudogru Selen (-98) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Cankaya's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Dilara Hazal Kara (-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Sefa Toprak added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bakospor. Cankaya moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with TED Ankara and Istanbulgucu. Bakospor lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Cankaya will face Alanya Bld (#9) on the road in the next round. Bakospor will play against Bursa BSB and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
