Important game to mention about took place in Gmunden. Eighth ranked Gmunden Swans (5-7) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (7-5) 76-75 on Sunday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely Redwell Gunners Oberwart outrebounded Gmunden Swans 43-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) who added 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Gmunden Swans' coach Bernd Wimmer allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Chris Ferguson (206-89, college: Mid-Continent, agency: HMS) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Redwell Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Klosterneuburg and Kapfenberg. Redwell Gunners Oberwart at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Gmunden Swans will play against league's leader Gussing Knights on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against Arkadia Lions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
