The game between leader Tofas (7-0) and 13th ranked Afyon (2-5) in Bursa on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Tofas outscored guests from Afyonkarahisar 89-65. The game without a history. Tofas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Afyon's 34. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Afyon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Umit Sonkol (206-82) contributed with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) added 12 points in the effort for Afyon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Tofas. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Acibadem Uni. Loser Afyon keeps the thirteenth place with five games lost. Tofas will face Socar Petkim (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Afyon will play against Gelisim (#10) and hope to win that game.
