Regular Season Round 6: Demir IBB - Fener.Ulker 85-76

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Demir IBB (3-2) beat 8th ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (3-3) in Buyukcekmece 85-76 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fenerbahce Ulker won third quarter 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Demir IBB won last quarter 24-16. It was a good game for American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and international point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 7 assists in the effort for Fenerbahce Ulker. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Demir IBB moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Fenerbahce Ulker dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Demir IBB will face league's second-placed Usak on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against the league's leader Karsiyaka (#1) and hope to win that game.
