Regular Season Round 7: Bandirma Kir. - Socar Petkim 71-60

Bandirma Kir.'s fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Socar Petkim (4-3) 71-60. Socar Petkim was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 34-22 second half run of Bandirma Kir.. It was a great evening for American forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Phil Greene IV (187-92, college: St.John's) helped adding 27 points. At the losing side Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Ali Isik (206-90) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bandirma Kir. (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Final Genclik and Adanaspor. It was Socar Petkim's third loss in a row. They keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Balikesir and Denizli. Bandirma Kir. will play against league's leader Acibadem Uni. in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Socar Petkim will play at home against the league's second-placed Tofas (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
