Regular Season Round 5: BK Kremen - Hoverla 68-79

Very important is a home loss of third ranked BK Kremen (2-2) against seventh ranked Hoverla (1-3) on Friday night. Host BK Kremen was defeated by Hoverla in Kremenchuk 79-68. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. BK Kremen was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BK Kremen's 28. American forward Jayon James (198-92, college: La-Monroe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Victor Ljuljdjuraj (203, college: Albertus Magnus) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Hoverla players scored in double figures. Swingman Yuriy Lokhmanchuk (197-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 12 points in the effort for BK Kremen. Hoverla maintains seventh place with 1-3 record. BK Kremen at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Kharkiv. Hoverla will play against higher ranked Kharkiv (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Kremen will play against the league's second-placed Halychyna and will have a slim chance for a victory.
