Regular Season Round 13: Petrochema - Rasai 89-85

There was no surprise in Jonava where 13th ranked Rasai (3-10) was defeated by sixth ranked Petrochema (8-5) 89-85 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rasai won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rasai was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) fired 20 points for the winners. Forward Vytautas Kruzikas (203-89) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius used entire bench in such tough game. Swingman Edvinas Seskus (194-95) produced 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Augustinas Jankaitis (205-94) added 14 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Petrochema and four Rasai players scored in double figures. Petrochema moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zalgiris II and Vytis. Loser Rasai keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Petrochema will face again Rasai (#13) in Raseiniai in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
