No shocking result in a game in Alytus where eighth ranked Nevezis (4-6) defeated bottom-ranked Dzukija (1-8) 69-57 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. Nevezis dominated on the defensive end, holding Dzukija to just 6 points in third quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) helped adding 16 points. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Arvydas Eitutavicius (188-82, college: American) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and forward Osvaldas Macernis (200-82) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Nevezis moved-up to sixth place. Dzukija lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Nevezis will meet league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#8) in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
