Undefeated leader Lukoil Acad. delivered the seventh consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Chernomorets (1-6) 97-76 in Sofia. The game was mostly controlled by Lukoil Acad.. Chernomorets managed to win second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lukoil Acad. dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 38. They outrebounded Chernomorets 38-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Lukoil Acad. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. International Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Four Lukoil Acad. players scored in double figures. Forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) produced 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Emil Binev (199-91) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lukoil Acad. (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Chernomorets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Yambol and Akademik PL. Lukoil Acad. are looking forward to face Cherno More (#3) in Varna in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Chernomorets will play on the road against Rilski (#5) in Samokov and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
