Regular Season Round 11: Vytautas - Juventus 89-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Prienai. Third ranked Vytautas faced 4th placed Juventus. Host Vytautas (7-3) smashed guests from Utena (6-5) 89-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Juventus. The game without a history. Vytautas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Vytautas forced 21 Juventus turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 63.0 percentage. Vytautas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. International power forward Egidijus Dimsa (204-85) answered with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Edgaras Zelionis (201-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Juventus. Vytautas maintains third place with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Juventus at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Vytautas will play against league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Juventus will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
