Regular Season Round 7: Khimik - Dynamo 65-68

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Khimik (7-1) in Yuzhny on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Dynamo (5-2) 68-65. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Khimik. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 35-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Khimik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for center Anatolii Chelovan (206-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Artem Slipenchuk (193-89, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 19 points and 6 assists. At the losing side American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Vladimir Konev (201-89) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Dynamo maintains third place with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Khimik. Defending champion Khimik still keeps top position with one game lost.
