Regular Season Round 9: Karlsruhe - Saarlouis 107-66

Date: November 21, 2015
No shocking result in a game when second ranked BG Karlsruhe (8-1) crushed at home 11th ranked Saarlouis (2-7) 107-66 on Saturday. BG Karlsruhe shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for Rouven Roessler (198-80) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 4 assists. American Marcus Smallwood (200-82, college: N.Illinois) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Smallwood is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. Naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Saarlouis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Karlsruhe keeps a position of South leader, which they share with Ehingen. Loser Saarlouis keep the eleventh place with seven games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face Titans (#8) in Dresden in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saarlouis will play at home against Giants and hope to win that game.
