Rather predictable result in Stara Zagora where third ranked Beroe (5-2) beat 7th ranked Levski 2014 (2-5) 80-70 on Saturday. Levski 2014 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The former international Stanislav Vaklinov (207-89, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international Tihomir Zhelev (193-90) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. Beroe's coach Lubomir Minchev used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Hristo Nikolov (202-85, agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Beroe. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cherno More and Balkan. Levski 2014 at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Beroe is looking forward to face Academik Plovdiv (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Levski 2014 will play against the league's second-placed Balkan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
