The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked BC Timisoara's (1-8) home loss to tenth ranked CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (3-5) 70-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-70. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and center George Toth (211-92) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for BC Timisoara in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu maintains tenth place with 3-5 record. Loser BC Timisoara keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Gaz Metan. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu will meet at home league's leader Steaua CSM in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Timisoara will play against Pitesti (#8) and hope to win that game.
