Regular Season Round 14: Rasai - Petrochema 97-91

Another upset was a game between Petrochema (8-6) and Rasai (4-10), which took place in Raseiniai. Higher ranked Petrochema lost to thirteenth ranked Rasai in a road game 91-97 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Petrochema. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-91. Rasai shot 66.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Rasai looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Swingman Edvinas Seskus (194-95) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists to lead the effort and American guard Gabriel Moton (191-91, college: Brandeis) supported him with 17 points and 7 assists. Five Rasai players scored in double figures. Even 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists by point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) did not help to save the game for Petrochema. Evaldas Aniulis (186-92, college: High School) added 8 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rasai maintains thirteenth position with 4-10 record. Loser Petrochema keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris II and Vytis. Rasai will meet higher ranked Perlas-MRU (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Petrochema will play against Telsiai in Telsiu and hope to secure a win.
