There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 9th ranked Lietkabelis (2-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Neptunas (5-5) 73-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-65. Neptunas forced 21 Lietkabelis turnovers. It was a great evening for Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) helped adding 16 points. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Neptunas maintains fifth place with 5-5 record. Lietkabelis lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Neptunas will meet at home Siauliai (#7) in the next round. Lietkabelis will play against Juventus and hope to secure a win.
