There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Yesilgiresun (3-3) defeated on the road higher ranked Torku Konyaspor (3-3) 81-76 on Sunday. Torku Konyaspor was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-21 charge of Yesilgiresun, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. American-Ivorian point guard Doron Perkins (189-83, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side American point guard Tyrone Brazelton (183-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) scored 25 points (made all of his seven free throws). Yesilgiresun moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Torku Konyaspor. Yesilgiresun will face Trabzonspor (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
