Date: November 22, 2015
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vilnius. Leader Zalgiris faced second-ranked Lietuvos rytas. Guests from Kaunas (10-0) defeated host Lietuvos rytas (8-2) 82-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lietuvos rytas. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Lietuvos rytas managed to win third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Lietuvos rytas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, college: Boston Coll.) who scored 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). International guard Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89) produced 12 points and the former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) added 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Lietuvos rytas at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Zalgiris are looking forward to face Nevezis (#6) in Kedainiai in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lietuvos rytas will play on the road against Vytautas (#3) in Prienai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
