Regular Season Round 7: Darussafaka - Galatasaray 76-83

Rather expected game in Istanbul where 7th ranked Darussafaka (4-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Galatasaray (5-2) 83-76 on Monday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Galatasaray made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) helped adding 22 points. At the losing side American Luke Harangody (202-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import swingman Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) scored 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray moved-up to second place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Galatasaray will face Torku Konyaspor (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Darussafaka will play against Banvit BK (#10) in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
