The game in Zaporozhye supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Cherkasy (5-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Zaporizhya (4-6). Cherkasy smashed Zaporizhya 85-57 on Thursday. The game without a history. Cherkasy led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zaporizhya to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Cherkasy had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international Klym Artamonov (186-93) who scored 17 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Andrii Shalamov (201-96) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. Cherkasy will face bottom-ranked VolinBasket (#9) in Lutsk in the next round where they are favorite. Zaporizhya will play on the road against the league's leader Khimik in Yuzhny and hope to win that game.
