Regular Season Round 10: Gediz - Akhisar Bld 61-76

The most important game in the last round took place in Gediz between third ranked Gediz (7-3) and seventh ranked Akhisar Bld (6-4) on Friday night. Gediz was defeated by Akhisar Bld at home 61-76. The game without a history. Akhisar Bld led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of center Hakan Yapar (202-84) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Akhisar Bld's coach Zafer Aktas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gediz. Akhisar Bld moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Eskisehir Basket. Gediz at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Sakarya BSB and Denizli. Akhisar Bld is looking forward to face higher ranked Sakarya BSB (#5) in Sakaraya in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gediz will play on the road against Bandirma Kir. in Balikesir and is hoping to win this game.
