Very predictable result when second ranked Acibadem (9-1) won against 11th ranked Afyon (4-6) in Istanbul 100-92 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-92. Afyon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) added 17 points in the effort for Afyon. Five Acibadem and four Afyon players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader Tofas. Loser Afyon keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. Acibadem will face Socar Petkim (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Afyon will play against Eskisehir Basket and hope to win that game.
