Regular Season Round 15: Zalgiris II - Suduva-Mantinga 69-74

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (12-3) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Zalgiris II (8-7) in Kaunas 74-69. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zalgiris II won third quarter 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Suduva-Mantinga won last quarter 21-18. Suduva-Mantinga outrebounded Zalgiris II 38-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) who scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Paulius Valinskas (190-95) who recorded 24 points and guard Kristupas Zemaitis (191-96) added 10 points respectively. Suduva-Mantinga maintains first place with 12-3 record. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home Delikatesas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris II will play against Ezerunas-Karys (#12) in Moletai and hope to secure a win.
