Regular Season Round 8: Zaporizhya - Mykolaiv 86-83

Important game to mention about took place in Zaporozhye. Seventh ranked Zaporizhya (4-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Mykolaiv (5-5) 86-83 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Mykolaiv won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zaporizhya made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mykolaiv was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Zaporizhya players scored in double figures. Guard Oleksandr Shostuha (193-84) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Artem Chemyakin (208-84) added 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Mykolaiv. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zaporizhya maintains seventh position with 4-6 record. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Zaporizhya will play against league's leader Khimik in Yuzhny in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mykolaiv will play at home against VolinBasket (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
