Regular Season Round 8: SC Kryvbas - Cherkasy 79-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kryvyi Rih. Second ranked SC Kryvbas faced one of their biggest challengers Cherkasy. Host SC Kryvbas (8-2) defeated guests from Cherkasy (5-4) 79-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cherkasy. Cherkasy trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 27-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-79 at the end of the game. SC Kryvbas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Dmytro Zabirchenko (192-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who added 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. International forward Alexander Sizov (199-88) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Oleksandr Kobets (194-96) scored 19 points. Four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. SC Kryvbas have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted SC Kryvbas maintains second position with 8-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Khimik. Loser Cherkasy keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Dynamo. SC Kryvbas will meet league's leader Khimik in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cherkasy will play against VolinBasket and hope to secure a win.
