Regular Season Round 8: Khimik - Dynamo 111-59

Date: November 28, 2015
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Yuzhny. First ranked Khimik faced 4th ranked Dynamo. Host Khimik (8-1) smashed guests from Kyiv (5-4) 111-59. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo's 34. Khimik forced 19 Dynamo turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. The winners were led by guard Oleksandr Ryabchuk (189-89) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Khimik players scored in double figures. Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Kenney Funderburk (193, college: Columbus St.) did not help to save the game for Dynamo. Forward Evgeniy Shumeyko (193-95) added 8 points for the guests. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Newly promoted Dynamo dropped to the third place with four games lost. Khimik's next round opponent will be Zaporizhya (#7) in Zaporozhye where they are favorite. Dynamo will play on the road against Bipa Basket (#6) in Odessa and hope to win that game.
