The most exciting game of round 13 in the LMKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Aistes-LSU (2-7) to seventh ranked Siauliai-Univ. (1-8) 57-54 on Saturday evening. Aistes-LSU trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 21-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 54-57 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Aistes-LSU 49-32 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Silvija Kuodiene (181-81) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American guard Danielle Miller (173-92, college: UNLV) chipped in 17 points. Forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Sarune Melinauskaite (171-96) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aistes-LSU's coach Ricardas Maceina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siauliai-Univ. maintains seventh place with 1-8 record. It was Aistes-LSU's third loss in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
