The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Tavriyska Zivka's (4-2) home victory over one of their biggest challengers SDYUSHOR-4 (2-4) in Kherson 85-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tavriyska Zivka. SDYUSHOR-4 was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tavriyska Zivka dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SDYUSHOR-4's 30. Tavriyska Zivka forced 40 SDYUSHOR-4 turnovers and had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by SDYUSHOR-4's players. Forward Svetlana Maliar (180-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Margarita Glebova contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Tavriyska Zivka players scored in double figures. Guard Nika Korinna (170-96) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Yulia Bohatyuk (184-97) added 7 points and 20 rebounds in the effort for SDYUSHOR-4. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tavriyska Zivka maintains second position in League with 4-2 record behind leader Dynamo-NPU. Loser SDYUSHOR-4 keeps the third place with four games lost.
