There was no surprise when 15th ranked Istanbul BSB (1-6) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Anadolu Efes (5-2) 94-66 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 59-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Anadolu Efes made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Israeli center Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida) who scored 15 points. American-Slovenian center Bryant Dunston (203-86) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Dusan Ivkovic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Kadeem Batts (206-91, college: Providence) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Anadolu Efes moved-up to third place, which they share with Usak. Loser Istanbul BSB keeps the fifteenth position with six games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Trabzonspor (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Istanbul BSB will play against the league's second-placed Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
