Bottom-ranked NSA Delta (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 104-49 loss to second ranked Dunav 8806 (5-1) in Ruse. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to NSA Delta's 28. Dunav 8806 forced 23 NSA Delta turnovers and outrebounded them 45-27 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by NSA Delta's players. It was a good game for Serbian center Biljana Stjepanovic (190-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international forward Tsvetomira Sharenkapova (184-91) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Power forward Mirena Dencheva (185-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Maria Svetoslavova (179-93) added 20 points in the effort for NSA Delta. NSA Delta's coach Tsanko Tsankov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dunav 8806 have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Haskovo 2012. Newly promoted NSA Delta still closes the standings with six games lost. Dunav 8806 will play against Neftochimic (#3) in Burgas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NSA Delta will play at home against Montana 2003 (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
