Regular Season Round 9: Bipa Basket - SC Kryvbas 58-66

SL Favorit Sport top team - SC Kryvbas (9-3) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Bipa Basket (6-6) in Odessa 66-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bipa Basket. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bipa Basket won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when SC Kryvbas won last quarter 19-13. They also forced 19 Bipa Basket turnovers. Bipa Basket was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Dmitriy Lypovtsev who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Maxim Ivshyn (209-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) answered with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Evgeni Tkachenko (204-83) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bipa Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Kryvbas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Despite that victory SC Kryvbas went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Bipa Basket dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. SC Kryvbas will face Zaporizhya (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bipa Basket will play at home against Mykolaiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
