Regular Season Round 11: Tofas - Mamak DSI 86-67

TBL top team - Tofas (11-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Mamak DSI (4-7) in Bursa 86-67. The game was mostly controlled by Tofas. Mamak DSI was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak DSI's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a quality performance for Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Ali Kavaklioglu (186-86) added 11 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for Mamak DSI in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Mamak DSI at the other side keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Gelisim. Tofas will play against Gediz (#4) on the road in the next round. Mamak DSI will play against Afyon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
