The game in Akhisar was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Sakarya BSB (8-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Akhisar Bld (6-5). Sakarya BSB did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 82-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sakarya BSB. Akhisar Bld managed to win fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Akhisar Bld 41-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Five Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. Center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sakarya BSB. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Denizli and Gediz. Loser Akhisar Bld dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Sakarya BSB will meet at home Bandirma Kir. (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play against Balikesir (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
