Regular Season Round 7: Hatay - Yakin Dogu 99-104

The game between second ranked Hatay (5-2) and seventh ranked Yakin Dogu (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Hatay was defeated by Yakin Dogu in a tough game in Hatay 99-104. Yakin Dogu dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hatay's 36. It was a great evening for American center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Her fellow American import guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) helped adding 29 points. Yakin Dogu's coach Alper Durur used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Australian point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists (made all of her fourteen free throws !!!) and naturalized American swingman Bahar Ozturk (183-84, college: Connecticut, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Yakin Dogu maintains seventh place with 4-3 record. Hatay at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Yakin Dogu are looking forward to face league's leader Abdullah Gul in Kayseri in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hatay will play on the road against Adana ASKI in Mersin and is hoping to win this game.
