Very important is a home loss of second ranked Osmaniye (5-3) against seventh ranked Cankaya (4-3) on Saturday night. Host Osmaniye was defeated by Cankaya in a tough game in Osmaniye 69-73. Cankaya forced 20 Osmaniye turnovers. Strangely Osmaniye outrebounded Cankaya 45-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Bojana Vulic (191-84, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Burcu Tasbas (178-89) chipped in 20 points. Four Cankaya players scored in double figures. Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (193-89, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds and the former international forward Mehtap Karabilecen (191-88) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Osmaniye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cankaya moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Nevsehir GHSIM. Osmaniye at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Cankaya's next round opponent will be Mersin Uni (#7) at home. Osmaniye will play against Bakospor (#12) in Gaziantep and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the KBSL just one year after relegation.
