NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Spartak Pleven (5-4) in Sofia 112-74. The game without a history. Lukoil Acad. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lukoil Acad. outrebounded Spartak Pleven 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Lukoil Acad. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-93, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 27 points for the winning side and Kris Minkov (199-94) accounted for 13 points and 7 assists. Montenegrin-Serbian center Milovan Savic (205-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and guard Gerasim Nikolov (188-93) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Spartak Pleven in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lukoil Acad. have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Rilski. Lukoil Acad.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Levski 2014.
