There was no surprise in Dresden where 11th ranked Saarlouis (2-9) were defeated by eighth ranked Titans (5-6) 82-77 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Titans moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Weissenhorn. Saarlouis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Titans will face Weissenhorn Youngstars (#7) on the road in the next round. Saarlouis will play against the league's second-placed BG Karlsruhe (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
