Everything went according to plan in Adana where eleventh ranked Canik Bld (3-4) beat bottom-ranked Botas (1-6) 78-72 on Saturday. Canik Bld made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Latvian center Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-83, college: W.Illinois, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Burcu Cigil (182-90, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American power forward Avery Warley (190-87, college: Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Milica Jovanovic (189-89) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Canik Bld moved-up to eighth place. Botas lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Canik Bld will meet at home higher ranked Istanbul Uni (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Botas will play against Gelistirenler (#9) in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
