Regular Season Round 9: Dragon Force - Guifoes 71-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Porto. Second ranked Dragon Force faced 4th placed Guifoes. Host Dragon Force (6-2) defeated guests from Guifoes (4-5) 71-62. The best player for the winners was power forward Diogo Araujo (199-97) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Brazilian Joao Gallina (192-94) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Paulo Sereno (197-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Simonas Januskis (197-94) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dragon Force have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Dragon Force maintains second place with 6-2 record behind leader Illiabum. Loser Guifoes keep the fourth position with five games lost. Dragon Force will face league's leader Illiabum in Ilhavo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guifoes will play at home against Sampaense and hope to win that game.
