Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Lisboa: Atletico (#4) and Belenenses CF (#7). Atletico (5-4) crushed visiting Belenenses CF (3-6) by 29 points 81-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Belenenses CF. Atletico dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Belenenses CF's 28. The former international swingman Joao Manuel (192-79) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Jorge Afonso (192-79) chipped in 15 points. Four Atletico players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Tiago Brito (180-85) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Carlos Dias (197-79) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atletico moved-up to third place, which they share with Sangalhos and Benfica B. Newly promoted Belenenses CF dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Ginasio. Atletico will meet at home league's leader Terceira in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Belenenses CF will play against Estoril Basket (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
