Regular Season Round 9: Khimik - Zaporizhya 82-72

SL Favorit Sport top team - Khimik (10-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Zaporizhya (4-8) in Yuzhny 82-72. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Zaporizhya was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik forced 21 Zaporizhya turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yakov Zmitrovich (200-84) who recorded 21 points and guard Yuriy Kondrakov (185-96) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Khimik have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. Zaporizhya at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Khimik's next round opponent will be Cherkasy (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Zaporizhya will play against the league's second-placed SC Kryvbas (#2) and hope to win that game.
