Regular Season Round 19: Ezerunas-Karys - Perlas-MRU 69-70

Twelfth-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (6-11) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Perlas-MRU (11-8) in Moletai. The visitors from Vilnius managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ezerunas-Karys. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 12-8. But Ezerunas-Karys won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) accounted for 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (200-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Evaldas Rastenis (184-89) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ezerunas-Karys in the defeat. Perlas-MRU moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Palanga. Ezerunas-Karys at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Perlas-MRU's next round opponent will be Nafta-Uni. (#10) in Klaipeda which should be theoretically an easy game. Ezerunas-Karys will play on the road against Telsiai in Telsiu and hope to win that game.
